CWG Academy, the brain child of CWG Plc, who seeks to bridge the skills gap in Africa’s Information and Communications Technology sector, had recently concluded a 3-month intensive practical learning experience for its students. The academy organized a brief graduation ceremony for the 30th set of students and recorded 24 graduates for the 2020 Academic session.
During the ceremony, the students were urged to inculcate all they have been taught and replicate it wherever they find themselves as they have been prepared to face the future with confidence and excel, especially in the Information and Communications Technology industry.
“Like we told students who graduated before you, the CWG Academy is touted as one of the best in the country, but there is a need for you as graduating students to consistently learn and research as technology is dynamic,” said Mr. Emmanuel Effiong, the Director of Study at the Academy.
He also encouraged the students to continuously look forward to what the world will present to them with boldness and enthusiasm, adding that what they have been taught in the Academy ultimately gives them an edge anywhere they find themselves.
According to Mr. Effiong, the Academy is one of the many ways CWG is contributing her quota to Nation building by ways of helping to tackle the Nigerian unemployment quagmire.
Meanwhile, one of the students who spoke on behalf of other students described the training program as memorable and valuable.
The enthusiastic student noted that the experience from the CWG Academy was worth every while and he affirmed that it was a good start for every young person seeking to start a career in Information Technology. She further added that CWG Academy offers the opportunity to be grounded in IT.
“CWG Academy gives you that big and broad opportunity to learn. To people out there who are still in search of an ICT training academy, I will advise them to choose CWG Academy,” she said.
In the last decade, the CWG Academy has become a citadel of learning for those seeking skills in the world of Information and Communications Technology. Since its inception, the Academy has trained and developed over 1,500 Professionals, many of whom acquired skills that earned them employment with Blue-Chip companies in Nigeria today. Some have also gone ahead to establish their own companies as entrepreneurs and are doing very well.
